Since I was very young I wished to be married, have two kids, a house, a job, it was my life plan, the plan to happiness. In dreams I named my imaginary children, Jaime Andres and Daniela. When I reached adolescence my dream did not seem to materialize. Phrases like "I want you as a friend" or "You will be a great boyfriend, but you are not my type", made me doubt that there was a plan for my life. I asked God a lot but it was as if He didn't listen, as if He didn't care. I began to think that it wasn't worth it to want something so badly seeing that it was never going to happen.

So the years went by, making decisions lightly. I got married, I separated, I was alone. I was smiling on the outside but really sad on the inside. I didn't have a plan in my life, at least I thought that.


"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope" Jeremiah 29:11.

One day, in the least expected way, the woman who is now my wife came into my life. I remember that day she asked me if I wanted to have children, I told her two, Jaime Andres and Daniela. She told me that she had two, Juan Pablo and Camila, at that moment I never imagined that they would end up being my children. Later Jaime Andres and Daniela would arrive. God's plan was always bigger.

Not seeing the plans as we imagine them makes us lose faith that someday good days will come to our lives and we forget that God is in control and has great plans for us. Our head trick us and makes us fall into hopelessness, makes us lose faith.

God keeps His promises, God is always with us, He knows the desires of our heart, we just have to believe in Him. Here it is important to believe in Him, not to demand from Him because we do not know what we are asking for. My plan was to have two children, for God it was four; for me the plan was to have a girlfriend, for God it was to have a wife. It was never my plan, it always was, is and will be HIS PLAN.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love him and are called according to the purpose that he has for them" Romans 8:28

Thank you God and forgive me. Thank you for so much, and forgive me for doubting, denying, fighting with you in waiting.

Thank God for your life and all that happens to you; have FAITH, your plan is in the best hands, GOD'S HANDS.
