We are approaching to the Holy Week, our most important week. The passion, death and resurrection of Jesus has been captured in films, books, studies, documentaries, which try to recreate every detail of what happened in the last moments of Christ on earth. The movie "The Passion of the Christ" is one of them and is recognized as the crudest for showing in detail what Christ suffered. You have to see it to understand what I am talking about.
When I saw the crudeness of what Christ suffered, the scourging, the crown of thorns, the crucifixion, I wondered, did he have to suffer and die that way? Why didn't he just die and rise again?
Christ came fulfilling the prophecies that the messiah would come to save us. At that time we were living in the law of Moses, by the tablets, and God's people were lost, proof of that is that his own people crucified him. So the law of God was not enough for man, he needed something more.
If the law was enough Adam and Eve would not have been expelled from Eden because they would have complied with what was commanded, but it was not enough, why?
Obedience: Action of obeying the will of the person who commands, of what a norm establishes or what the law orders. Man does not want to obey the will of God, for that reason Christ had to come, suffer and die. He did it out of his infinite love for us.
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" S. John 13:34.
The way to fulfill, follow and preach the word of God is with LOVE. Christ came to leave us that inheritance LOVE. If Adam and Eve had loved God they would not have eaten from the tree. And the love to the father is practiced and perfected in the love among each other.
Love everyone until your life gives out, that is God's inheritance. Work on your love and nourish the love of God in you every day; do it with the full conviction that you are giving what you have received, the love of God through his son.
Live your greatest inheritance, the love of God, because love can do all things, everything. Love is the key to all God's promises.
God bless you!
