Everything we learn we are going to put into practice someday. Our knowledge, what we study, will come the opportunity to put it into practice and that is when everything begins to materialize, to become a reality.
"For you, brethren, were called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but by love serve one another" Galatians 5:13 ESV1960.
This past weekend we went with the church (we are the church, not the four walls) to baptize men and women who are living on drugs, the same ones we have accompanied by giving them chocolate with bread in the center. The church had prayed that at least one of them would express his or her true desire to stop living that way and ask the Lord to rescue them, so we had a place available in a foundation to receive the one who expressed it.
Edgar has lived several years submerged in drugs, destroying his life, his family. He works, but everything he earns is spent on drugs. That day, Edgar lined up to be baptized and when he was immersed, declaring that the Lord is his savior, he stood up, raised his arms and began to ask God, with tears in his eyes, that he no longer wanted that life, that he no longer wanted to live like that, that he wanted to live free of drugs. God was listening to him.
Edgar had been praying for his salvation for a long time, trying to quit drugs by his own strength but he was not succeeding, but God was listening to him.
At the end of the day Edgar left with us and went into the foundation.
Everything has a purpose, for the good of our lives and the lives of those around us. Live the call to serve, live the call that God has placed on your life, you don't know it, but someone is praying, God is listening and you are the one chosen to take his hand.
God bless you!
