He will do it

This week, my wife and I had an invitation to dinner with some great friends. This was one of those invitations where you know you are going to have a very nice evening, but what was about to happen was not in our plans.

Our friends have a beautiful family made up of two beautiful daughters, one married and graduated from college and the younger one is studying her professional career; although we knew them since they were little, it was the first time we shared a dinner with them. As the evening began, we were joined by the older daughter's husband, a great guy we have also known for a long time.

Once the banquet that had been prepared for us was served, we all sat at the table, prayed and gave thanks to God. Between memories and anecdotes we began to talk about what God had done in our lives; everyone at the table was telling testimonies and how beautiful it is to walk with the Lord. It was there when something happened that was not planned.

"Arriving at the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down at once. I have to stay at your house today. So he hastened down and, overjoyed, received Jesus into his house..... -Today salvation has come to this house." Luke 19:5-6,9

We started doing an activity of asking forgiveness and giving thanks to someone at the table. Each time someone began to speak, the more emotional the moment became. Tears, smiles, glances that finally ended in a big family hug. It was an incredibly beautiful moment that my wife and I were able to witness.

The moment of dinner is a family moment that sometimes goes unnoticed, but it is a time to take advantage of, and what better way to do it than inviting God to be a part of it. Once seated at the table with us, we only have to open, expose our heart and He will do it.

Let great things happen in your family when you are all seated at the table; invite everyone to open their hearts and participate in this activity which is Jesus' teaching "Forgive and give thanks", and He will do it.

We recommend that this activity be done at least once a week. It is a way to create moments of forgiveness, reconciliation and family growth in God's love.

God bless you!
