Focused in 2024

One more year has passed, one more year in your life, you achieved many things but many others remained to be done or fulfilled; the reasons, only you know them, but you definitely want them to be fulfilled in 2024, and you will do everything possible to make it happen.

We start the year with all the energy we need, but our work, our busy schedules, our family, our debts, our emotional problems, our relationships, absorb us to the point that we fall back into the routine and another year will go by.

What can I do to make the most of my time and accomplish more of the things I have planned for 2024?

I'm going to share with you three things that are going to make a difference. All three have the power to lead you to achieve your goals or keep you in the same routine, it all depends on how you use them.

1. Focus on what you have and not on what you don't have.

Think about everything you currently have, your body, your health, studies, work, family, hobbies. All of them together are your most important asset, it is what makes you who you are, so recognize each one of them and give them the true and great value they have in your life and how important they are.

Do you want more and better? That's fine, but don't put your happiness in them, it leads you to discredit and render useless what you DO have; what you DO have is what leads you to get what you desire.

What God has given you will lead you to get what God has prepared for you. (2 Peter:3-4)

Work on what you can control and stop worrying about what you can't control.

Your time is very valuable, do not waste it thinking or talking about things that are out of your control such as news or events in other countries. Nor on politics or superfluous things, they only consume minutes of your precious time.

Make a list of your priorities, goals and objectives. Dedicate your attention and effort to achieve them, the other things, God will take care of them, remember, He is in control. (Isaiah 41:4).

3. Living in the past, present or future.

Looking at the past is an anchor that keeps you from moving forward.  Imagine that you are walking but you only look back, this will make it easier for you to stumble over any obstacle that comes your way.

Your past was the school of your present. It is a reference book: open it, read it, close it, put it away and go on.

Looking at the present with sadness, complaints, regret or nonconformity makes you sad and makes you get stuck on how your life could have been "If only I had...", "If only such a person had...", "If only I hadn't passed....". Or looking to the future with fear makes your present stagnate "What if I make a mistake again?"

The present is a gift and you must take advantage of it, every second counts. Embrace your family, do everything out of love for those you have by your side, enjoy with each one of them, make the most of every moment, smile, this is your greatest blessing.

Looking to the future thinking that only when you are in that future you will be happy, will rob you of today's happiness.

No one knows the future so do not worry about what will be, because God has great things for you. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In summary, learn from the year that passed, treasure what you have today, make the most of it, and be amazed by what God has in store for you. God wants you to live free and happy, keep that in your mind and in your heart every day.

On my part, I wish this year 2024 to be a year full of happiness, peace and joy walking hand in hand with God; He is your father and your father loves you.

God bless you!
