Curse

The word "Cursing" sounds like a horror movie, witches or Harry Potter with his spells. Although it has nothing to do with it, it does have a similar effect.

Curse has its roots in Middle English cursen, from Old English cursian, "to wish evil to; to excommunicate"

We have all received some kind of curse in our lives, whether it be for an argument, for ending a romantic or business relationship, for an incident in the street or for other reasons.

There is no such thing as a neutral word, we bless or we curse, we unsettle or we encourage, we heal or we hurt. Words have real power and we must be careful how we use them. The bible says "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks". We give with our words according to how our mood is and how our thoughts are, and the first to receive it are those who are closest to us, our families.

"You are useless", "You are good for nothing", "You are lazy", "Don't bother me I am busy", "I hope God punishes you". These and many other phrases we have said or heard. These phrases are loaded with emotions, and that is their objective, to make the other feel my pain, anger, sadness, but it is a mistake. These phrases do not make us think again, improve, raise awareness, they only express emotions and generate emotions. Hence the children or partner are filled with emotions and everything ends in discussion.

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers" Ephesians 4:29.

Our words should edify not destroy, love not alienate, heal not hurt. "You can do better", "I was hurt by what you did/said", "It's not the best time, do you mind if we go over it later?0", "I love you".

Let's use our words in the right way, but for that they must be loaded with love and the origin of love is God. Fill your heart with God's love, He gives you everything, you have everything thanks to Him, thank Him; live in gratitude, fill your heart with joy and peace that come from God and from your mouth will come words that build, edify, unite, strengthen and encourage.

Remember, your words build or destroy, unite in love or drive away in pain.

God bless you!
