Among the activities I do, I work in the agricultural sector selling products for crop protection. Fertilizers, organic or chemical pesticides, are some of the products that are needed for plants to bear good fruit.

Just as we work on the plants, God has worked on our lives; He has fertilized us with His word, polished us with His commandments, cleansed us with the blood of Christ and has taken care of us from plagues and enemies, how about the fruit you are bearing?

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" Galatians 5:22-23.

"By their fruits ye shall know them: do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" S. Matthew 7:16

This is where it gets good.  When I visit the crops farmers always say "This fruit is the best"; it may look very nice on the outside but you have to check to see if it meets the standard.  In the same way we see the fruits of the Holy Spirit and we calmly say "I have them all, I'm doing great", very nice to say but, do we meet the standard?

"But as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all your conduct" 1 Peter 1:15.

Our standard is Christ. You want better fruit? Give the control of your crop to the Lord, the control of your life to God, He is the best sower, the best caretaker, the best in everything; when things are in His hands everything is better.

Ask the lord in prayer and fasting about the fruit or fruits you desire God to work in you; ask with all the strength of your heart, striving and courageous, and our all-hearing father from on high will grant the desires of your heart.

And remember, when you begin to see the fruits, give all the glory and honor to God the Father, thank Him, it pleases Him, is His will.
