Be patient

How many times have you heard this phrase? In my case MANY, I imagine you have too. Do you remember when you heard it, what was happening at that moment in your life?

Today I am taking a flight from Cali to Cucuta, with connection in Bogota. The e-ticket was showing gate B6; I arrived in plenty of time, so I relaxed, had breakfast and read some papers. I found it very curious that there was a commotion about a flight, people very upset and talking loudly.

When it was time to board, I opened my e-ticket and noticed that they had changed the lounge to the other side of the airport. At a brisk pace I began my journey. When I got to the security area I met all the passengers and they were talking to each other about what had happened "This is outrageous, can you imagine this, etc, etc" as if they were not going to make the flight. I am writing this blog in the middle of the flight, we all boarded.

Patience looks for more than just waiting, patience looks for us to have peace in our hearts while we wait. It is not easy, we want to be in control of everything, but we are wrong to believe that we can do it.

In my case, my teachers in my patience PhD are my children. I wish they would think and do as I have told them, but they don't even use the fork and knife like I do, much less in other really important things. Here's the hard part, understanding that it's not wrong. My patience help me to accompany them in their process and do my part, love them like crazy.

"Always humble and gentle, patient, forbearing one another in love" Ephesians 4:2.

"It is better to be patient than courageous; it is better to be self-controlled than to conquer cities" Proverbs 16:32

I thank God that He is working on my patience. I no longer see mistakes, I see growth; I don't see falls, I see how they get up; I don't see the bad, I see how good they are. Patience helps us to see what surrounds us in detail; if we are in races we miss the details, what's really important.

Ask the Lord to work in your patience, may your soul rest in the hands of the Lord, He is in control. God only asks us to do our part and trust Him.

About to take off, my eldest daughter called me, very excited told me that she has something very important to tell me. I will have to wait patiently until we land so she can tell me, in detail, what she has to tell me.

God bless you!
