I’m with you

A few years ago we lived through a very difficult time, a period I never thought we would live through. A financial bankruptcy.

As a business administrator I did everything I could to avoid the inevitable, but the sum of many factors, bad decisions and far away from God, led me to lose my house, my cars, my children's schools, social club, etc. We had lost everything we had worked for.

Resources were scarce and together with my wife we had to do everything to generate income. At that time it was the Cali fair and we set up, together with some friends, a stall selling beer on the street. We earned something but not enough. It was difficult to see how some acquaintances did not approach us when they recognized us.

We set up a pizzeria with a lot of effort and help from family and friends. It gave us enough to live on, but it was not enough. The children were already going to school, the older children had no certain future and we had nowhere to live.

I remember as if it were yesterday. It was a Saturday night, 11pm at the pizzeria, I had run out of ideas. I didn't know what else to do. I looked up to the sky and said to the Lord - From here on it's in your hands, because me, I've run out of ideas -.

"So do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be troubled, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand."
Isaiah 41:10 NIV

The next day, a friend I hadn't seen in years came into the pizzeria and asked me how I was doing. I told him in detail and he said, "I have an apartment nearby, it's unfinished, but you can use it. Don't pay me anything, finish the finishes you can as a form of payment - As I write this my eyes fill with tears because there I saw the love of God, I was living his promise. Yesterday I had no place to sleep, today I had a place to spend the night. From then on many wonderful things happened that I hope to tell about later.

My wife tells me that all the things that happen to us have a great purpose, to tell our testimony of what God has done in our lives. God took care of us, raised us up and gave us what we were promised. - If he cares for the birds of the air, much more so for you who are his child - I believe and attest that he does.

So, no matter what situation you find yourself in, have faith, trust, the Lord is with you. Recognize the wonder of the Lord's work in you and thank Him for everything, always. And if possible, tell others what He has done in your life.

God bless you!
