Boy, don’t go out….

"Boy, don't go out - mom shouts at him, but he makes a gesture and proudly leaves."

This is an excerpt from Rin Rin Tadpole, a children's book by Rafael Pombo, latín American writer. In this story his mom tried to prevent him for bad things that could happen to him, but unfortunately it did not end well. Imagine what would have happened if Rin Rin Tadpole had listened to his mother?

Parents everywhere are trying in every way to guide their children on the right path. In the same way friends, relatives and acquaintances try to do the same with the ones they are close to and see that they may be making the wrong decisions that can lead them to "The mouth of the swallowing duck", referring to where poor Rin Rin Tadpole ended up. How do we help? How do we do if many times they don't listen to us?

"Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear the word at My mouth, and warn them from Me" Ezekiel 3:17

Watchtower is a tower built on a high place to watch over a large expanse of land or sea to give early warning of danger or threat.

God has commissioned us to be a watchtower, not only to our children and loved ones, but to all those we see in need of direction; to warn and admonish with love, that their actions may bring bad consequences to their lives. Like Rin Rin tadpole, having warned him that he could end up in the mouth of a gobbling duck for partying with mice.

"You are the light of the world; a city set on a hill cannot be hidden" S. Matthew 5:14.

We are living in difficult times, the lack of direction of God's people is evident. Let us ask the Lord in prayer to allow us to be watchmen and light of his people. May our behavior and deeds lead the way and may our words, charged with God's love, reach the hearts of all those who need hope and correction in their lives, and may we all together live the glory and grace of God.

God bless you!
