I have to be very honest, but this blog was very hard for me to write. There is so much to say that I had a hard time putting words together.
When you are struggling together with young people who want and work hard to get off drugs, and see one of them not stepfollow through and die from an overdose makes you sad. - We could have done this or that - are words we keep saying and repeating to ourselves. There is a lot to learn and correct, but we have to move on.
Talking to the interns about what happened, we reflected that it was important to identify the lesson and move on. One of them said - The Lord has shown us what can happen to us if we move away from our process -.
The reflection could not have been more accurate. It was evident what can happen to any of them if they fall again.
"The Lord says: "I will instruct you, I will show you the way you should go; I will give you counsel and watch over you" Psalm 32:8.
It is important that we learn from what happens around us and be aware that it can happen to us. We easily fall into the error of believing that things like divorce, emotional problems, depression, addictions will not happen to us and that this can lead us to fall where it is difficult to get up. But the truth is that we are as human as anyone else.
"I will guide you in the way of wisdom, I will direct you in paths of righteousness" Proverbs 4:11.
The Lord shows us which is the way, it is up to us to follow it and live fully. Let us be guided by his teachings, let us live in fullness and serve as many as we can.
Dedicated with love to those who have struggled and leave an indelible mark in our hearts.
God bless you!
